Botox is a neurotoxic protein formed by Botolinum toxin, Clostridium botulinum bacteria and related species. It is a frequently used treatment method to prevent the formation of wrinkles or to provide the opening of wrinkles.
Over the years, the folds formed on the skin by the facial mimic muscles become more prominent and dynamic lines appear on the face. These are most commonly seen on the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the eyes and around the lips. When the operation of these muscles is weakened by applying Botox to the mimic muscles, the folding of the skin with muscle movements and the lines due to folding are also reduced. Again with the botox application, the lines on the forehead and around the eyes, which give the person an older look than they are; The lines between the eyebrows, which give an angry and frowning look, are reduced.
Botox shows its effect only by preventing the release of substances that provide conduction in the nerve endings in the area where it is injected. The first effects of the application begin to appear after 3-4 days and the full effect occurs after 10 days. The duration of the effect of the procedure is on average 4 to 6 months. Afterwards, the effect of the drug gradually decreases and the muscle movement starts again. With repetitive applications, this period may extend up to 8-10 months over time. It can be easily applied twice a year.
